The reason the NFL upheld the suspension was due to Brady asking an assistant to destroy potential evidence, a cellphone that he had used before, during and after the week of the game. The destruction of the phone was first revealed at Brady’s appeal hearing in June.
The league also said that after the controversy began immediately after the game, Brady had frequent contact with the two members of the Patriots staff who had doctored the game balls, including one who was nicknamed the Deflator. The employees did not speak at Brady’s appeal hearing.
Is it just me but does Tom Brady sound ungrateful? Tom Brady won a game he should have lost, and he went on to win the Superbowl as a result. It's more of a slap in the face to the league and fans by Tom Brady's appealing his suspension. Brady comes off as arrogant. He should accept his punishment, let the story die and move on. To me a four game suspension was a slap on the wrist to a cheater that should have had his champion stripped and ring given back.
Hell, players like Reggie Bush were forced to give his Heisman Trophy back, USC was bowl ineligible for a few years, the school had to forfeit its games plus give up its championship because Reggie Bush's dad took a few $1000. To me if he cheated to win that game, then why not question if he did the same thing to win the Superbowl? In my experience with repeat offenders, they usually commit the crimes over and over again until they are caught.
It looks bad that the New England Patriots have been champions that often, and they have been busted cheating often as well. It's not the american sport that I grow up admiring.
