7 Days to Die Alpha 16 and Console Updates for PC, PS4 and Xbox One

SUMMER UPDATE

Hi everyone in the gaming community!  It's been a minute, since I was here.  Been on my new job and let's say they keep me busy.  I can't believe I missed E3 for the first time in 6 years. Sad face. Well, I'll go and see what good games are there and give you news on how close they are to release and what to expect.

Well, let's get down to business.  I was stoked to learn that an update for the new gen consoles is finally here.  I'm like most of you, and I don't play much of the PC stuff b/c i'm not an IT expert...yet . So I fill you in on what has happened.  Oh, by the way the grind is real on this update.  You can't mass craft to level up anymore.  You have to use skill points to improve you efficiency or gain perks

Tbh the console received similar updates to what the PC players got in the alpha 16 patch.  The alpha 16 patch was real buggy, but the console versions are more consistent and stable.  I will list all the information that I found in the official 7 Days to Die forum:

On 6/27/2017 at 12pm PST / 7pm UTC / 8pm GMT the long awaited update will be going live on the XB1 and PS4 stores!

Below is a copy of the notes which were shared with you already, but included are some preview shots of what you can expect later on today The team is very excited to release this update and I'm excited to jump in with you guys!

Just a mention of the usual stuff first...

- NOTES only apply to the fix DIRECTLY ABOVE them, unless otherwise stated

- do NOT post bug reports below. They belong in the CONSOLE BUG REPORT section.

- keep posts CIVIL and RESPECTFUL when discussing or giving feedback about the patch.

- please keep the post ON TOPIC. This post is for the discussion of this patch ONLY. (lets try actually stick to this this time ya?)

- I do NOT have further info on A15 or A16 features beyond what is in the notes or updates on MD5, Multiplayer issues and other fixes, when I have those updates they will get their own post.

Now without further ado, the information on Summer Update #1(Patch 10)!

7 Days to Die [Console]
Release Notes
Patch 10.0
PS4 Version 1.14
XB1 Version 1.0.14.0

Patch 10 begins releasing today! We can’t wait to see what crazy things you all end up creating with the new features we’ve included with this patch. Enjoy and happy surviving!

New Features

For those of you who follow development of the PC version of 7 Days to Die, the features below will probably look pretty familiar! Some of these features will require you start a new game to experience them. We've broken them into 2 sections below. Check them out!

Will Work in Existing Saves

Updated Sky and Weather Effects

Sky and weather effects have been updated to the full, more immersive Alpha 15 versions.

Dawn

New Lighting

Night Sky

Item Combination and Repair

The workbench UI has been updated to allow players to combine items in order to make items of better quality. Any two items of the same type with a quality score (such as tools, weapons, and armor) can be placed into the workbench and a new item of better quality will be created. The workbench can also be used to repair items using other lower quality items as fuel. Workbenches can now also be disassembled with a wrench.

Lootable Gore Blocks

Zombies and their gore blocks have been updated so that when a zombie corpse decays into a gore block, the gore block can still be looted for the same loot that would have been looted off the zombie corpse. Along with this, zombies will decay into gore blocks a lot sooner than they used to and will often, when enough damage is done, instantly turn into gore blocks upon death.

Will Require New Saves

New Items

Over 50 new items have been added this patch. They will be available from a variety of sources but only to players that start new games in Patch 10. Some of these new Items include:

o New plants and harvestables

o Various new types of scrap

o A whole slew of new clothing items to be found

Navezgane Fashion Trends

Feast your eyes on the latest in post apocalyptic fashion!

Ride off into the (new and improved) sunset in style!

New Block Types

Over 100 new blocks have been added to the game. There are several that help flesh out existing block sets with new pieces (corners and arrow slits), toggleable lights, drawbridges, and a new crafting station. These blocks will only be available to players that start new games in Patch 10. Here's a few examples of those below...(Comments by Clare)

Draw Bridge

For all your moat and "oh no you dont!" river crossing needs!

Jail Door

I've seen a few people ask about his block - wanting to add to their own prison builds!

Lights and Various Blocks

Let those Z's know your open for business! Or simple keep a light on for a weary traveller. There's also the rounded concrete blocks and should the weary traveller pass on, there's always the mortician block!

Stainless Steel Blocks

When the world is falling appart and most things are just a little rough around the edges, it's nice to have such lovely satisfyingly-smooth blocks to build with!

Cat Walks and Tree Houses

Another group of blocks players were eager to see! Stay up off the ground and take out Z's from afar or do a little hunting!

Cat Walk Bridges

Go up and over without placing loads of chunky blocks! I really like these minimalist bridg- hey wait a second.... is that a wooden Giraffe??!? Hmm... it appears to be a stag. Thanks okay then...

Farming Improvements

Farming has been improved in Patch 10. The concept of fertilized land has been added, along with 4 new seed types (Yucca, Mushrooms, Chrysanthemum, and Aloe). These new features will only be available to players that start new games in Patch 10.

New Recipes

Over 60 new recipes have been added to the game. Many of these have been added to complement the new Block Shapes and Farming features being added this patch, but a few exist to allow players to craft items that are already in the game. These new features will only be available to players that start new games in Patch 10.

Chemistry Station

A new crafting station, called the Chemistry Station has been added to the game. This station provides a way to craft many of the recipes you can craft on the campfire, using different, easier recipes and crafts those items in less time than the campfire.

Skills Updates and Balancing

Most of the changes done to the skills have been balancing ones. A lot of the changes were changing the level needed for next level requirements, changing the cost of some skills and the amount of experience needed to level those skills up. Two new skills were added (Chemistry Station and Breaking and Entering) and two were removed (10mm Round Crafting and Leather Tanning). These new features will only be available to players that start new games in Patch 10.

Bug Fixes and Improvements

· Fixed an issue that caused SFX associated with cancelling an item in the crafting queue to play too loudly

· Fixed an issue that caused SFX associated footsteps to briefly become inaudible after the player would sprain/break a leg

System/Stability

· Fixed an issue that would cause the game to prompt the player to activate split-screen whenever they would exit the audio options

· Fixed an issue the would cause the session to temporarily freeze after cancelling crafting on a large quantity of items

We are thrilled to be releasing Patch 10 today. We couldn’t do what we do without your continued support! Thanks for being such an amazing community.

7 Days to Die Alpha 14 Status Update and Release Date

The Fun Pimps are working hard on Alpha 14, and it has some great new content! Here are the highlights: Navezgane has gotten a lot bigger and better with a brand new improved height map with higher mountains and deep water, a new smoothing algorithm that makes the land and water much more natural, a multitude of new locations including the largest city in the expanded plains, and a bandit like shanty town and a huge lake with islands just to name a few.

Alpha 14 also has many new perks and improvements to our skills system, a great new damage and death system where zombies feed on your corpse, an introductory basics of survival quest, repeatable quest note challenges, a radiant buried treasure quest system for infinite digging for treasure fun, many new improved world textures and block shapes, a major rebalancing of block damage, leveling and XP, some good optimizations, random gen improvements, and so many bug fixes.

Here are a couple more shots that looked amazing. The Fun Pimps have completely rebalanced the game and fix every XML bug known. They’ve renamed every block and item in the game to a standard naming convention, so as a builder or modder the creative menu is like a dream now. All related items are in order and can be easily found. All blocks have a naming convention like color material block shape and further description. They extended all blocks from a master block. This means all balancing and bug fixing is done on about 10 master blocks and the nightmare of manually editing 1000′s of blocks is finally over.

Now the juicy parts! The block upgrade path is now fully balanced and we’ve added adobe so you can build a decent fort in the desert now. Also each weapon has been rebalanced from scrach with all weapon archtypes having a unique purpose. For example the pistol might not be uber powerful but it is now quiet so it would be useful to dispatch a few zombies quietly without alerting the entire wasteland. They resolved the issues where you could do 1400 points damage with a single shotgun blast because of stacked skill bugs.

Finally, they are working on chunk occlusion. They don’t have much occlusion now only LOD and models disappear at a distance. An occluder will hide hidden chunks like caves or when you are inside most of the outside will no longer render. This could yield some serious performance gains, so I’m really excited about this. They’re fixing bugs like maniacs and Alpha 14 is the last new save you will ever have to start. We’re committed to save game support from Alpha 14 forward.  Developers said Alpha 14 would be released at the end of February, and that day has passed.  I'm thinking a release date for Late March 2016.

7 Days to Die Alpha 13: All Dramatically Improvements and Updates

The release for Alpha 13 is almost near.  The fun pimps spoiled us with an update or new alpha every 5 weeks, so this long wait really is having gamers wondering what have they been doing that could take this long.  Here is a sneak peak of what to expect in 7 Days to Die: Alpha 13.

Hit Points, and Cars, and new Guns
Tracing all of 7 Days to Die 12.5 alphas history of hit points, before, all blocks had 10 hit points and then we used a hardness to say how hard it was. In the end it was really just a bunch of math that made it difficult to balance the game and also made it impossible for us to really display a health bar for blocks. Now each block shows a hit point value as you harvest it, and you can see how effective your tools are and the impact low stamina has on damage too, feedback that was always invisible before. Plus you will get a feeling for what blocks are the strongest in the game because well, stats are awesome.

Cars are now harvest-able. Rather than blowing up you can mine them and get metal. But if you are smart, you will use a wrench and disassemble the car to get all kinds of cool parts, like short metal pipes, springs (now required to make a blunderbuss), cloth, small engines, batteries, radiators and more. You can still loot them too, but the loot isn’t guaranteed like before, since you can harvest them, and now that they aren’t entities (eating collisoin and server cpu).

Speaking of the blunderbuss, its now the most powerful shotgun in the game, followed by the sawed off, and then the long barrel pump. Of course range and reload time make a big difference, but for up close one shots, the blunderbuss is king. Also, a badass home made looking rocket launcher is being introduced in the alpha 13 update. I hope it makes a better impact than the explosive arrows.  All the arrows did was blow holes in the ground and attract the annoying spider zombies that would scream and unleash a flood of zombie hordes.

A welcomed additional feature will be flooded basements! Now, underwater exploration in looting is added as well. Instead of water destroying anything in its path, water only floods over items realistically. Under water exploration could be dangerous though, you never know what you might find.

They added dismemberment of limbs.  You can dynamically cripple enemies by shooting or cutting off a limb in combat.  You can continue to cut pieces off even if they're more dead...well completely dead we are fighting zombies, lol.

Melee will be an worthwhile investment in Alpha 13. Here is the first look of the new machete. Looks like a machete will be useful when dealing with the modifications and animations made to the improved zombies

As seen in other games like ARK cold weather survival will present a new challenge. The entire world has a global temperature and then each biome has a modifier, as well as time of day, wind, sunny or cloudy all influence the perceived temperature.

Each clothing item in the game has an insulation value which can be positive or negative. Fire warms you up as well and running raises your core temperature. Running raises your core temperature, drinking coffee warms you up as well.

In order to cope with the cold weather survival system clothing has been upgraded with stats that will play a factor in conducting heat and improving defense.  The starter gear will be the same plant fiber armor we have seen in prior games.

Here is a look at the new leather duster coat. I’m really excited about the new coats and armors. Shown here is the leather armor, denim pants, leather duster, cowboy hat and a blue plaid shirt.

Abandon houses are redesigned and serve as a better survivalist haven than in prior alphas. Abandon houses won’t have any zombies near them, but hardly any loot either, and far from secure. But if your cold and desperate and willing to put some elbow grease into it, it might make a place you can stay at for a night or two.

You can upgrade everything: floors, doors, walls and window to the steel level.  On the right side of the screen you will see the upgrade cost and materials needed for upgrading. You can take an dilapidated home and upgrade it to something livable or a complete steel fallout shelter.

Other cool new additions are garbage piles make random noises when you walk over them.  It doesn't seem interesting now, but when you are exploring and a zombie is trying to sneak up on you...that random noise will be very useful to you.

Destiny 2 season 18: Release date, Arc 3.0,

The current Season of the Haunted will end on August 23. The usual weekly maintenance happens at 6pm BST (10am PDT, 1pm EDT, 7pm CEST), so...
