Beyonce in a Video Game!

Is the Diva that stepped on Tina Turner's toes is making her way to the video gaming world.

According to the Huffington Post, Beyonce was on a fast pace to create a dance video for Game Five Developers in a game similar to Michael Jackson and Dance Revolution series, but a $100 Million lawsuit stood in her way.

In 2010, Beyonce backed out of being part of a deal to create a dance video game named Starpower: Beyonce.   When Beyonce backed out of her contract, it cost Game Five 70 jobs and loss of critical profits.

In December 2012, the New York appellate court upheld a judge decision to move the case forward.  Beyonce contended in her appeal that "she had a right to void her contract because Gate Five hadn't obtained sufficient financial commitment for the project."

A termination clause in the video game contract mandated that a certain amount of money be in place by an agreed-upon date or Beyonce could back out.  Gate Five alleged it invested $6.7 million in the game and made arrangements for $19.2 million in backing when Beyonce tried to renegotiate the deal and backed out.

The denial of Beyonce's appeal does not imply guilt in the case, only that evidence be heard.  In any case, Beyonce is a gamer and she's planning on making a game...just not with Gate Five.

AWESOME!
