Dragon Ball Super Ending was a Turn Around for the Franchise

On episode 132, Dragon Ball Super came to its conclusion for this season with Frieza and Goku working together to defeat Jiren and give Android 17 the win. The Zen-oh, the god of the universe, told 17, that he predicted his wish to bring back all other universes.  Zen-oh said that any other wish would not have been granted, and he would have erased the universe for selfish gains.  Frieza was brought to life by Beerus for his good deeds.  I really must admit Dragon Ball Super turned around its franchise from the mistakes of the past.

It really seems like Dragon Ball Super fixed the wrongs of the franchise that offended most of its audience. I must admit, I like how the franchise changed for a big positive. For the first time we saw female super saiyans, Mr. Popo color changing from black to blue his mannerisms from dumb to intelligent, Master Roshi sexual harassment been address and women standing up against him instead of being a victim.  We saw a dynamic of the powers shift from the saiyans being the only strong fighters to everyone reaching a solid potential and holding their own.

I found out that episode 132 will not be the last episode of the series.  There is a movie coming out December 14, 2018 that will reveal a new antagonist and drive a new story line for the series.  Some fans have speculated that the new villain is a saiyan, and he is good like Goku.  Some fans think the antagonist for the villain is Jiren, but nothing is confirmed.  In the movie trailer that came out last weekend, the villain had a saiyan tail and he looked dressed like natives of planet Vegeta.

Dragon Ball Super Episode 122 - Final Chapter of the Arc Begins

Well after the show took a break to celebrate New Years, the broadcast will resume on 1/6/2018.  Looks like we are down to the last two teams. Universe 7’s fan-favorite folks–Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Android 17 and Frieza–  are ready to save the day again. They’ll go up against the remaining members of Universe 11–Toppo, Dyspo, and Jiren–in the final arc in this particular story.

I have to admit, I got caught up in the idea that there were multi-universes with characters just as strong as Goku and Vegeta.  Each character had his or her own move set.  We saw a lot of gender battles on this series that I felt showed the turned around the stereotypes of Dragon Ball such as making women weaker or more a joke than serious fighters.  With the female Saiyans like Kale, we saw that female fighters can be strong and threat just like any fighter.

My question is will any of this be carried on into the real show since it is an arc. Dragon Ball Super has been locked into a series of tournaments for about 70 episodes, so it would be great to wrap this arc up and get back to a real story line again.

Dragon Ball Super 97 Controversial Again

I wish I had hardcore fans like Dragon Ball. Y'all real controversial and like giving rise or likely to give rise to public disagreement whenever I talk about DB Super.  Well, I'm going to speak my mind anyway lol...

This episode was what I have been waiting to see.  For those of you who have not been watching DB Super, there is an intergalactic battle royal going on.  There are 9 galaxies present with 8 to 10 participants on each team.  The two reasons for the battle royal is to see who's the strongest in all galaxies and one galaxy is destroyed when it is the loser.

For this series, the Z squad will be known as Team 7.  Team 7 consist of Piccolo, Gohan, Krillin, Andriod 17 and 18, Tien, Master Roshi, Goku, Vegeta and Frieza.  At one point, Majin Buu was on the team, but I do not know why he is gone.  Frieza took his place later.  If you can tell, me why then drop a comment in the comment section please.

In this episode 97, we see that Goku is the true favorite and everyone is trying to eliminate him first. The Supreme Kai and Gohan created a plan for all Team 7 to fight in a circle and stick together.  This strategy failed due to Frieza, Goku, Vegeta, Andriod 17 and 18 wanting to fight on their own.  The only ones that stuck to the strategy were Piccolo, Gohan, Krillin, Master Roshi, and Tien.

Two fighters from different galaxies got eliminated due to selfish motives.  One fighter tried to sacrifice himself and jump off the edge of the arena while taking Goku with him.  Goku powered up to super god mode and eliminated the dirty trickster.

Tbh, I'm waiting to see Kale which is Broly like SSJ and her sister Cabba the first female Super Saiyan.

There is another fighter named Toppo that everyone is afraid of who is part part of the pride troop from universe 11.  The pride troop are a self righteous elite group that believes they can be the hand of Justice in the universe.  This series promises to entertain and provide more of the tournament like settings which made Dragon Ball popular.  Feel free to drop a comment  or subscribe for more content.   Thanks community.

Dragon Ball Super 66 - Future Trunks Defeats the Demon Zamasu

Done in true Japanese superstition, Trunks defeated the angry God that terrorized his future worse than the Androids.  Dragon Ball Super 66 brought out all they had to wrap this filler series up.

Big Mystery of Black Goku and the Immortal God Zamasu Solved
I have to admit it was really cheesy, but I like the way these time lapse were handled.  Basically Zamasu was a Kai (God) that hated humans and became so filled with hate that he abused the Dragon Balls to make evil wishes.  First wish involved, Zamasu switching bodies with an alternate Goku from a different dimension. Then Zamasu killed alternative Goku's family (Chi Chi and Goten) and convinced the alternate Goku to join him on a fight to end humanity.

Somehow, the alternative Goku in Zamasu was made immortal by a second wish from the dragon balls a year later.  Then Alternate Goku started to terrorize the Future Trunks from Cell series dimension.  Trunks recognizes the Goku he sees is not the same Goku he knows, and he labels this Goku as Black Goku b/c he is evil.  Unable to defeat Black Goku, Trunks traveled in time to find Goku and Vegeta for help. runks would have went to Gohan since he was the strongest warrior at the end of the saiyan series, but family life has weak Gohan.  Krillin and Piccolo are actually stronger than Gohan now.

Goku, Vegeta, and Trunks encounter Black Goku by chance in their time.  Goku and Vegeta easily defeat Black Goku, but he escapes to Trunks Future to heal and improve.  When Goku, Vegeta and Trunks return to the Future to finish Black Goku, they get defeated.  After a few defeats we learn the mystery behind Black Goku and connection to the God Zamasu.  We learn how Zamasu body is immortal, but Black Goku body is human.

Episode 66 - Spoiler
Now you wonder why I took time to explain all that.  Zamasu and Black Goku fused to become all power God. But if you know anything about fusion, you energy and intention determine your fusion.  Zamasu/Goku is filled with hate, so their fusion was flawed.  Zamasu body is warped by his hate.  Instead of an immortal God, they are a monster demon that hate made him weak and mortal.  A fused Goku + Vegeta = Vegito matches the Zamasu fusion, but they become overpowered and defeated.

Then a Super Saiyan 2 Future Trunks steps in.  Amazingly SSJ 2 Future Trunks is strong enough to handle Demon Zamasu.   We learn Future Trunks has the ability of Goku to gain energy from surround life.  Future Trunks is a living Spirit Bomb.  At the end of the episode, Future Trunks forms a spirit bomb and absorbs the power.  Future Trunks then uses his sword to slice Zamasu in half and defeats him.

It was one of those moral lessons episodes, but it was good. In Japanese culture, they believe humans transform to Gods so you have to know that in order to get the lesson of the story.  It showed how a God who hates those he is sworn to protect can become evil and a demon.  Zamasu belittled and underestimated the value of those that looked up to him, and when they united they defeated him.  Don't know if Future Trunks became the new God of that dimension, but we will see in episode 67.

Dragon Ball Super Episode 56 Super Saiyan Rose Goku?

I don't usually post about anime unless an EPIC situation happened.  This is that situation!  Dragon Ball Super Episode 56 was a game changer for the series.

This week's episode opened with Trunks, Vegeta and Goku time traveling to Trunk's alternative future to rid his timeline of the human hating god, Zamasu...aka Black Goku.  Goku is attacked by the human army and confused for being Black Goku by the fearful humans. Trunks calms the conflict and reassures society Goku is a good person and never confuse him with the doppleganger Black Goku.  The army informs Trunks that a familiar face is waiting him at the base.

When returning to base, Trunks discovers Mai, his girl friend not girlfriend, is alive.  Otaku fans you know in anime the boy is too embarrassed to claim a girl as his girlfriend until they are married. Trunks wasn't concerned if Bulma was alive though, lol. After the happy reunion, the Z fighters set out to take Black Goku out once in for all.

When the Z fighters confront Black Goku, something odd is in the air.  Immediately, Super Saiyan Vegeta charges Black Goku to prove he is the best fighter and do what Goku can't which is kill a threat to peace.  Vegeta becomes concerned as he realizes his attacks are not hurting Black Goku.

At this point, Vegeta falls back to re-evaluate Black Goku's abilities.  As expected, Black Goku unleashes his new stronger form, Super Saiyan Rose.  SSR Black Goku thanks Goku for showing him how to gain more power to rival a god.  In an instant, Vegeta is cut down by an energy sword attack to the heart by SSR Black Goku.  Goku turns Super Saiyan Blue and tells Trunks to take care of Vegeta.

Goku and Black Goku fight intensely until Black Goku hits the crap out of Goku to prove he is in another class of strength.  As the show wraps up, Black Goku poses to do a kamehameha to end Goku's life, then Zamasu shows up in the sky and lands beside Black Goku!

The whole time we thought Black Goku and Zamasu were the same person.  Now we know Black Goku is someone completely different, but Zamasu reveals he does harbor hatred to humans and plans to kill every human especially Goku.  Wow! Told y'all it was an epic turning point for the series.

I'm done with Dragon Ball Super because of a Racist Scene

Like most anime fans I was excited to see Dragon Ball Super premier July 15, 2015.  As a fan of the american dubs, I was pumped to see the series air first run uncut.  Then they took it there.  Black fans, hell any minority that watches anime knows what I mean when I say "they took it there".

Few people know this, but the Dragon Ball series has been a big supporter of racism.  The dubbing companies that rebrand and broadcast the show in America do a great job of editing out the perverted and racist content that in its original Japanese airing includes.

When I was in college, I wasn't aware of the content that was taken out until my roommate said that DragonBall is a very racist series.  Then he took me to a web page that showed Dragonball and Dragonball Z uncut.  The site showed images of Master Roshi pervert collection and characters that were minstrel, stereotypes or negative even given names like Mister Popo which translate to Mr. Evil not because he does bad deeds, it's because his skin is black. I was like wtf when I saw it.

Then I saw episode 2 of Dragon Ball Super and a scene where Vegeta gets covered in black ink, and he goes on a rant because he is black.  I was whoa it's 2015 and y'all going there again.  Grow up you bigots.  A large part of your fan base is minorities and we don't appreciate it when the show we love feels comfortable taking 15 seconds to put us down or point out that were are not liked by your culture.

Episodes 1-3 sucked to be honest, and I only watched it because I was a fan of the previous series. The show has Goku as a broke farmer that can't do anything but fight.  Mr. Satan gives Goku some money for saving the world against Buu, and Goku gives the money to Chi Chi then abandons his family to go train with King Kai.  Goten even says "Chi Chi is a money thirsty woman so if you take Mr. Satan's money and give it to her, then she'll let you abandon the family to go train with King Kai.

Then there was a part where Gohan is a poor scholar that can't even afford to buy his college books. His girlfriend Videl buys Gohan the books he needs and says, "it's okay you don't have money now because I'm the daughter of a rich  businessman that saved the world.  When you have enough knowledge from studying, then one day you can use it to get a job and take care of your family like my dad does."   The show is full of cattyness and cheap shots like that, and I wonder what's going on in the writer's table for the show.  In my opinion, the writers on Dragon Ball Super are killing the show and got some serious issues with minorities, woman and values.

I mean Dragon Ball is a great series that traditionally was known for good story and fighting scenes, but 15 seconds of unnecessary content just really ended my support of the series.  It saddens me that really one group of writers can go into the studio make a sketch for 15 seconds that should be cut out and really kill a show before it takes off.

I'm like "why would you do that and why was that necessary?  What was your point, and what were you trying to prove by doing that?  I feel like Japanese anime really lost face with that bigotry.  In 1989, I can understand the racism because Japan was closed off to the world and didn't have much exposure to diverse cultures, but in 2015 you know better.  Japan is suppose to known for it's intelligence and pioneers of peace.  I'm really disappointed to say the least.  I will no longer watch the series, and I encourage others to do the same.
