Final Fantasy Versus XIII Put on Hold Again

Square Enix apologized for the lack of information regarding the delay of Final Fantasy Versus.  Final Fantasy XIII was rumored to be canceled.

Director Tetsuya Nomura said 'even within the company it's a very delicate problem.  The [release] date when we can concretely lift the ban has been decided and we are preparing for that moment. Maybe the details as to why information couldn't be released might be touched upon at the next information announcement.  I'm sorry it's already overdue, but please wait just a little more."

Like EA, Square Enix has gone through it's share of financial trouble due to poor sells and over expansion.  Developers on the Tomb Raider project mentioned how the game could have been better if they had more money, so I'm wondering if this is the same scenario.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII was announced in 2006 along with Final Fantasy Agito and FF XIII as a trio set in then new Fabula Nova Crystallis universe.  Then in 2012, a rumor floated saying the game was cancelled.

Who know?  Nothing confirmed or denied, but I doubt they'll trash the project.  I'm sure we'll see something out even if it's half ass.

Fox Pulls Family Guy

Fox pulled Family Guy episode from "Turban Cowboy because it depicts a plan for terrorist bombing at the Boston Marathon.

According to CBS news...In the episode, Peter befriends a terrorist who, unbeknownst to him, is plotting to blow up a bridge. When Peter dials a cellphone the friend has given him, explosions and screams are heard. On some websites, an edited clip has been circulating that fuses the two scenes, making it seem — incorrectly — as if the explosion was at the marathon. Some commenters have implied that the show "predicted" the bombings.

"I'll tell ya, Bob, I just got in my car and drove it," Griffin says. "And when there was a guy in my way, I killed him."

Later, 

"Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane took to Twitter on Tuesday to vent anger over the edited clip and offer condolences to victims of Monday's bombings at the marathon.

"The edited `Family Guy' clip currently circulating is abhorrent," MacFarlane tweeted. "The event was a crime and a tragedy, and my thoughts are with the victims."

Defiance on Syfy Rating

So what did I think of Syfy's new show Defiance?  It has potential.  The show drew in 2.7 million viewers which is a record for syfy.

I saw a few familiar faces in the cast like Julie Benz from Angel, Grant Bowler from Lost and Mia Kirshner from Vampire Diaries and the L word.

I must admit the story is interesting.  It seemed like a lot going on for a two hour premiere, but I think that's what needed in order to be successful now a days.  I watch a lot of syfy so to me personally...I get bored whenever one character's story takes too much of the storyline.

I saw some romeo and juliet mixed with interracial conflicts leading to potential drama for later episodes.  If you're a fan of Bio-shock or Fallout, then you appreciated the throw back song at the end of the show.  It gave that vibe of a world that's trapped by the results of war.  There's a lot going and I may watch to see how the story plays out.  

I must say with most shows stuck on re-runs...Defiance is in charged of it's own destiny.  It's not going to be a instant success, but i see it being a nice watch for fans of Battlestar Galatica or star trek.  Plus, there is a MMO video out that cost like $100 just to play, so it's doing all the right things to market itself towards success.  . Defiance had a strong start, and I must say it's doing the right things, right.  Right air timing, good writing, non-bias, good actors. We may have a potential hit, depending on where it goes.

According to ign.com Warner Brothers has announced the next title in the Batman: Arkham franchise will be Batman: Arkham Origins, currently in development for PC, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U.

Updates to Skyrim: The Elder Scrolls V and Gears of War Judgement bringing bug fixes, additions and tweaks to the games.

Skyrim: The 1.9 update by Bethesda gave the new Legendary difficulty setting and Legendary skills and fixes glitches such as couriers showing up dressed only in hats.

Gears of War: the update adds new weapon balance tweaks and general adjustments.  The first major change is a switch to all rifles to the values they were when the game shipped. Also, stun on smoke grenades were reduced from 2 seconds to .3 seconds.

Playstation 4 Upgrade Secrets and New Release Date

It's been 5 years since I purchased anything for playstation, but the new gen effort has my interested in changing my platform.

Xbox announced unlike playstation, that you will not be able to play old games on its console and to my knowledge xbox still doesn't play blue-ray dvds but playstation does.  After doing a price comparison, I feel like a fool for buying an xbox 360 realizing all I got was a out-dated and over-priced system that  plays games only.

I remember when xbox 360 came out the only game that made it sell was Halo. Plus, PS3 had major exclusive titles like God of War and Metal Gear Solid.

According to Ubisoft Montreal CEO Yannis Mallat, said Sony's next generation platform will be "less complex" thanks to the system's PC-like architecture.

Accord to Sony CEO Stuart Gilray, "PS4 kept secrets about the system until its released date was announced. The PS4 will 8GB of DDR5 RAM.  The PS4 will include a "ring-fenced" memory for system functions away from the memory used by games.  When you press the Playstation button on a PS3 game, you get the basic XMB but to do anything you have to quit the game, because of the memory for it.  With PS4 you won't have that [issue] because the system memory is already ring-fenced for itself."

The PS4 will be release in November 2013, and will sell for $430.
