Will Fable 4 save the Franchise and Company?

For all of you who played Fable 3 you were like wtf? Developers at Lionhead really drop the ball that time with a storyline which was just the opposite of what it hyped. A lot of fans lost faith in the Fable franchise all together after playing the crappy Fable 3.

Now a new Fable is coming out with hopes of saving the franchise. Fable: The Journey is set five years after the events of Fable 3, and focuses on Theresa and a Dweller named Gabriel as they journey across Albion to reach the Spire, in order to escape an entity known as The Corruption, which is following them. It has been confirmed that this "Fable" game does NOT deal with the ancient archon bloodline throughout the franchise.

The Fable 4 new improvement will have players using the Kinect to manipulate magic in order to defeat enemies. By using your hands to perform certain gestures, players can enter a spell crafting mode, which allows you to draw items with your hands and then use them as spells. This enables players to create shields, spears and hammers in order to defeat enemies. Players can also create fishing rods and telescopes, which can then be used in minigames. As you defeat enemies, you collect life force, which can be used to unlock new spells. Life force is similar to the experience system of previous Fable titles.

The release date is TBA sometime late 2012 or early 2013, if there is a world left according to the Mayans, lol.

BioShock Infinite Release Pushed Back

The sounds you hear in the background are none other than our own News Editor Ryan Taylor weeping uncontrollably. To be fair, he is far from alone. Today it was announced that the highly anticipated Irrational shooter Bioshock Infinite would not make its fall 2012 release date, but would instead be pushed back to February 2013.
Ken Levine, Creative Director of developer Irrational Games offered the following statement:

Walking Dead Video Game Episode Release

Most of the questions we’ve received this month were related to The Walking Dead video game release and we’re happy to report on the PC/Mac release date. We also know the titles for the 5 episodes that Telltale Games will release over the course of the year.

In case you missed out on earlier news, The Walking Dead game won’t be your traditional video game release. Instead, Telltale Games develops shorter episodes that are released separately. At this time, 5 episodes are planned for a first “season” and here are the titles:
  • Episode 1: “A New Day”
  • Episode 2: “Starved For Help”
  • Episode 3: “Long Road Ahead” (Due out in late summer)
  • Episode 4: “Around Every Corner”
  • Episode 5: “No Time Left” (Due out later this year)
As for the release dates, the first episode will be available on April 24th for the PC and Mac. They have listed XBLA and PSN versions as “coming soon” and the reason for this is because both Microsoft and Sony have a certification process and it is out of Telltale Games’ hands. However, unless there are any technical issues with the game that cause a delay, console versions should be ready within the coming weeks.

“Episode one of a five-part game series set in the same universe as Robert Kirkman’s award-winning series. Play as Lee Everett, a convicted criminal, who has been given a second chance at life in a world devastated by the undead. Experience events, meet people and visit locations that foreshadow the story of Deputy Sheriff Rick Grimes. A tailored game experience – actions, choices and decisions you make will affect how your story plays out across the entire series. Additional episodes available as downloadable content.

The first of five monthly episodes of The Walking Dead is set for release in late April on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360® for 400 Microsoft® Points, on PlayStation®Network for $4.99 and on PC and Mac as a season pass for $24.99 from the Telltale Online Store and other digital outlets. Information on additional formats will follow.”

Dead Space 3 storyline Leaked?

Dead Space 3 was seemingly outed last week when B-roll video from Electronic Arts' Redwood Shores campus briefly glimpsed what appeared to be an early logo and concept art from the in-development game. The news was little more than confirmation of something most of us figured was true anyway, but that's not the case with what we're hearing today.

Prey 2 Not Pushed Back No Release 2012

Bethesda Softworks just issued a statement on Human Head Studios' Prey 2, confirming that the sequel is still in development but that it won't be making its planned 2012 debut. Nothing further is revealed with regards to release plans. The news comes in the wake of rumors that the game had been canceled, a rumor further supported by Human Head's recent tease of a possible Rune sequel.
The Prey 2 release delay is blamed on the game not measuring up to where Bethesda and Human Head would like it to be. Read on for the full statement below:
Development of Prey 2 has not been cancelled but the game will not be released in 2012 as planned. The delay is due to the fact that game development has not progressed satisfactorily this past year, and the game does not currently meet our quality standards. Prey 2 has shown great promise and we regret disappointing our fans. We have made a substantial investment in game development to deliver the experience fans want. We are determined only to release the AAA game that fans rightfully expect, and are unwilling to compromise our quality standards to meet a release schedule.

No Games?

Someone asked me why i stopped reviewing games.  To be honest, I've reviewed the best titles out now.  Nothing really is worth reviewing other than a few underdog games or tapping into last year or years past reviews.

If you know a game that you want me to check out feel free to send me a request.

Silent Hill Downpour Review

To be honest, all the silent hill games have sucked since Silent Hill 3. I picked up this one because y'all say that its a can't miss. I am happy to say that finally the Silent Hill franchise has returned to its glory days.  Silent Hill Downpour is the lastest and greatest Silent Hill for the next gen of consoles.

Dark Souls Review

I finally got around to play Dark Souls as so many of you requested.  I 100% agree with y'all=It's Hard ass Hell to play but a challenge any expert gamer should accept.

Bioshock Movie Loses Director

According to Game Informer, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is out as the director of the BioShock movie and the film is definitely on hold.

Irrational Games’ Ken Levine said last year he is still working with Hollywood sources to get the movie made. I would definitely love to see BioShock: The Movie, but like most fans I’m a bit skeptical about whether or not Hollywood will get it right. Worst thing ever is seeing your favorite book or video game get a movie and having them butcher it.

However, the fact that Ken Levine and the team are taking so long to make sure everything is perfect is a good sign! They want to make sure they can accurately portray the underwater world of Rapture as best they can, and I hope it works out soon.
