Dark Souls Review

I finally got around to play Dark Souls as so many of you requested.  I 100% agree with y'all=It's Hard ass Hell to play but a challenge any expert gamer should accept.

Dark Souls is the sequel to Demon Souls developed by From Software is hella difficulty.  Just like on the back of the box said, I died several times playing this game. The player is able to travel to and from areas and explore various available paths seamlessly. Bonfires are scattered throughout the world; these represent the sole areas of rest and peace and function as checkpoints.

The player can be in either undead form or human form, and death in human form reverts the player to undead form. Death in either form results in the loss of all carried souls and humanity, both of which act as forms of currency in the world, though they are each used for different purposes. The player has one chance to recollect the souls and humanity by reaching the location of his death; failing this, the items are permanently lost. Farming for souls and leveling up can be time consuming but the game holds its appeal regardless.

Gameplay is seamless but challenging especially when you get in narrow areas.  Figuring out a strategy or having the right items equip are vital to survive because in dark souls, when you die you lose everything and have to make your way back to your body in order to reclaim everything you lost. Graphic are good but not crisp as you have seen in fallout or skyrim, but for what is need they suffice.  Sound is great, acting and script could use some improvement.

Overall, the game is solid.  It's a challenge that will keep you busy for hours and have you throwing the controller at the screen out of frustration.  Shield and sword combat is intense and it's an experience no gamer should miss and one of the better games for xbox 360 and ps3.  I give Dark Souls an 8.5 out 10.  It's good but not perfect, so it's a fair rating for an underground game.
