E3 2015 Fallout 4 news!

We have an official release date for Fallout 4 which is November 10, 2015. Also, this post will reveal details about the game I know you will find interesting.

"One of the great things about fallout is the world that existed before the war and that's where our game starts".

Fallout 4 will take place in 2077 a few years before the war.

The game has you take control of the mom and dad of the main character. You can sculpt the face to your liking by merely by click and drag a feature.

The characters talk to each other as you change features saying things like "what do you think Hun, bread or no bread?"

You can change the race as well which always you to control the race of their child.

And of course you can play as the female character as well. Whoever you leave the menu as will be the character you play as.  It's a dynamic creation system that will also effect the NPC's you encounter.

At one point a vault representative comes to you to verify your information.

The amount of thought put into the seamless weaving of the storyline with the characteristics and perks selection is genius.

Soon diaster strikes and you must exit to the vault with your family.

The action takes place real time allowing you to see the game engine and play through the diaster not just viewing a cut scene.

The developers end the preview with an explosion and the cliff hanger of not knowing the fate of the family.

None of the storyline was revealed past this event.  We learn the family survives, events transpire and you emerge 200 years from the vault as the soul survivor.

This is an interesting world full of dynamics where you can create any player you want, go anywhere you want, and player freedom is the number one goal of the game development.

The lighting and graphics reflect what you expect from a next generation gaming engine.

Even the dialogue is dynamic.  You can switch from first to third person during conversation, walk away while someone is talking or shoot the person in the face if you want.  The possibilities are limitless.

The interaction with pets and NPC's has changed.  You can point at objects and give pets directions to fetch items for you.

The combat utilizes an ambitious combat system with drastic improvements.  I was floored when I saw the dog attacking, switching back and forth between 1st person combat and the VATS.  The game ends there but other features of Fallout 4 were showcased.

Weapon modifications were introduced.  No longer will items like staplers and globes serve as useless junk.  Those items will be use as one of the 700+ modifications you can make to the 50+ weapons in the game.

The build feature allows you to scrap environments and items then rebuild structures the way you want them to look like or for feasibility.

There is an emphasis on you being able to build, create and decorate for yourself and your friend to make this feel like a world you are making the you want it to be.

There is an interesting dynamic that allows you to create a settlement.  At the settlement traders and people will arrive to live in your camp.  You need to provide water and farms for food.

You can build generators to light the town or build turrets to guard against raiders or monster attacks. In order to have certain machinery function you have to use wires to connect components and operations terminals.

That's all the news I have for Fallout 4. A reminder the game will be released on 11/10/2015.  Also in the next post there will be a free downloadable game.

I helped someone Handicap today

I did something I was very proud of today.  I have a co-worker that is handicap but he is an outstanding worker.  His communication skills are limited due to his disability.

The situation started where I heard a lot of commotion.  I went over to investigate in it was a manager yelling at my co-worker for doing a task wrong.  As a manager, I stepped in and I asked what was wrong.  The other manager quickly caused a scene and tried to fire the co-worker that was handicap for not doing the task the way she wanted...(really just trying to make an excuse to fire him, b/c she is bias towards diversity and doesn't like handicap people in her organizational culture).  I said let me fix the situation.

I pulled him to the side for a conversation. He was scared and clearly upset, but he explained to me the situation the best way he could.  I understood him completely without any trouble.  Basically, sadistic people in his department was using him to do work he wasn't suppose to do, and he was frustrated.  They were taking advantage of his kindness and unwillingness to say no.

I felt very enraged, but I had a very important conversation with his manager about what was going on there.  I definitely saw a need to implement change in the department and take a hands on approach on what is going on here.  I don't stand for discriminate nor does the company.

The age old saying goes, "people don't quit the company, they quit the bad manager".  I almost shed a tear when I saw him return to work happy and content.  If there was one good thing I did with my life, then I happy that I did this for someone who is a good person, solid performer, and needed help. Thank you God for letting me have this moment in life to be responsible and a true leader.

Fallout 4 trailer detail analysis shot by shot

There count down lead to the big reveal of Fallout 4 trailer.  Here is the breakdown of what was revealed.

The trailer opened with a track by the Inkspots name "its all over but the crying" while the camera pans away from the countdown to reveal a living room that cuts back and forth between from a 1930s suburbian utopia to a nuclear blasted loot cave with the only thing being left is a box of sugar bomb cereal.

The camera follows a dog searching through the remains of the home of a young family.  The family is a mother and father hovering over the cradle with a happy baby reaching for some rep con rockets that were featured in Fallout New Vegas.  On the drawer counter is a nuka cola truck from Fallout 3.

We can assume that the kid in the cradle is you, and this scene is you revisiting your home as an adult reliving the memories on that day the nuclear bombing changed the world.  It's a throw back to Fallout 3 how you start out as a baby and grow up to change the world.

We have another cut in and out scene as the dog hears something outside and you remember the sound of the panic alarms as the nuclear bombs were inbound and about to change the world as you know it.

As you escape, outside you see images of a familiar destroyed fallout neighborhood but developers provide another cut scene of Boston residents packing up and preparing to leave for the vaults.

You get another cut scene that's confusing if your a true fallout fan.  As you cross a bridge you see trees and bushes in the fallout world, but think for a minute.  Who remembers the big mission in Fallout 3 where your goal was to find new life and trees?  I don't know if the art director is being more liberal or the vegetation functionality of the game will feature more but this contradicts a lot to me.

Putting Fallout lore aside, the next scene is the best foreshadowing I've seen.  In the past, there are residents standing in line to enter a gate guarded by two brotherhood of the steel soldiers with a giant vault tech billboard on the hill saying "prepare for the future"  featuring the exact nuclear evacuation scene we are seeing.

Then you are shown powerful imagery in less than a minute of a door closing to all outside with vault 111 written on it that ends the introduction and act 1.

The next cut scene shows the sunlight peeking in as vault door opens from the inside.  Act 2 begins as you step out into the wasteland and observe your surroundings.

You get cut scenes of destroyed landmarks like the Bunker Hill monument and USS Constitution letting you know your location is Boston, Massachusetts.

In the remains of the bar area of scholarly square a mysterious stranger from the fallout 3 VATS perk approached you.

Next cut scene is a Brahmin caravan with bad weather in the horizon.  I wonder if weather will play a factor in this game?

We get a few more glimpses of the Boston wasteland filled with raging and fast ghouls, the enclave in helicopters, armed superhuman mobs prowling and protectatrons roaming the wasteland.  What I quickly noticed was that Boston wasn't hit as hard by the war as we remember the west coast from Fall Out New Vegas.  Some critics are saying that the timeline is different.  That events happening now are prior to the actual war between the USA and China.

The best scene is that of Fenway Park, the Boston Red Sox stadium.  Looks like a shantytown is inside the stadium with squatters and businesses inhabiting the area.

The next scene is a airship hovering over the Paul Revere statue and Old North Church.

The next scene is a view of the city from a perspective of the airship.  You stand beside a brotherhood of steel soldier and view some interesting signage: a nuka cola billboard, a GNN sign reference to a project Fallout 3 DJ 3 dog talked about a year ago, R&R oil.  R&R oil is interesting because the lore and reason the Fallout war happen was due to control over the scarce natural resources.  A nice nodd to what caused he downfall of humanity.

The next shot is the Boston State House and a few rooftop shots of buildings.  If you notice the condition of each building you wouldn't say a nuclear war happened bc most buildings are in good condition.  Comparing these buildings to the ruins of Washington, D.C. in Fallout 3, we don't know why Boston building conditions are better.  Most buildings looked like they were abandoned and not kept up instead of reflecting being hit by a nuclear blast. One particular giant bulging building that has been in many shots stands a mile high in the background.  It made me wonder what importance it will play and why it is there bc there are not any buildings like this in Boston?

The end of act 2 of the trailer concluded with flashbacks of people standing outside the vault 111 as the bombs hit.  We see the suburban family with the baby from act one get caught in the nuclear explosion, so maybe that's not you.  Thinking back throughout the trailer you have seen the family through a first person perspective, so are you a different child? Interesting twist I'd say.

Act 3 opens with a pure glimpse of the current events.  Dog meat the K9 sniffs out a power armor suit being assembled in a R&R petroleum garage.  This is the most powerful shot in the trailer.  There are power armor components on the shelf, magazines on the rack and weapons in the background.  Is this a crafting area? Is this your operations base?

Dog meat runs out to greet a man wearing a new pepboy on his wrist.  Normally you need a glove, now the pipboy is worn like a large wrist watch.  Controls are on the right side of the pipboy.  Then the main character rubs dog meat on the head and says "lets go boy".  Epic because none of the previous Fallout games had a voice for the characters.

Overall, the trailer purpose was showing us what is coming and what to expect from Fallout 4. I can't wait for an official release date.  Keep coming to hivegaming to stay informed on your latest gaming news and reviews!

Fallout 4 announcement June 3, 2015

There is an announcement coming out about Fallout 4 by Bethesda Game Studios.

I watched a few YouTube bloggers that spoke about decoding the message provided by the link I will attached at the end of the post.  The code basically  details that Fallout 4 will be playable for PS4 and Xbox One.  Another source mentioned there maybe be a piece of code that says the game will be playable on older systems like PS3 and Xbox 360.

Here is the link, I will know more tomorrow 😎

ARK: Survival Evolved

Early access has been given to gamers for Ark: Survival Evolved Alpha v1.54, and I must admit my first impressions of the game are driven by the gameplay curiosity and by the graphics of this MMO.

Ark: Survival Evolved will be available on pc and all consoles so the frame rate will be capped at 30 frames per second.

What I like about this multiplayer survival game is from the beginning you are placed in a world where technology and dinosaurs meet, and yes you can tame the dinosaurs!

There is a leveling up system where you gain experience point and unlock vital survival skills to progress through the game such as crafting tools like axes and learning how to build campfires and cook.

I can't post too much until the 1 pm broadcasting rule developers placed in the game but I will discuss what I like and don't like as I play.  One annoyance I noticed early on was that consumables like mejo berries must been eaten within seven minutes of collection or they spoil.
There is crafting timer for creating items and building.

There isn't a lot information about the game, what to do or how to do anything so it's wing it until more is known. It's unexplored territory with a lot of anticipated so I will keep y'all informed about Ark: Survival Evolved as I learn more.

Country Music Controversy in Music City

I don't usually post about this but since I live in music city and this is hot topic I will say my bit about the country music controversy.

“If you want to make ratings in country radio, take females out,” Keith Hill tells the industry publication.

All I have to say is that people like that were waiting in the dark to strike once Taylor Swift left country music.  She single handedly kept country music relevant to the public and when she left the ratings and spins went with her.

Folks that ain't from Nashville or on the country music probably were never aware that a lot of people hated Taylor Swift here.  You saw the award shows and millions of fans, but you never saw the internal struggle she faced trying to gain appreciation in the country music industry.

There were hundreds of Taylor clones or  veteran artists critics always said were better than Taylor Swift, but with each record she managed to sell millions and shine the spotlight on female achieves in the country music genre until it returned to a powerhouse.  I use her as an example when I get hated on thinking people may not like you but remember Taylor Swift kept her head held high, stayed dedicated to her profession, and always succeeded so never give up and keep achieving your dream.  I can't stress this to anyone who has a dream and works hard to achieve it, "Always go where you are appreciated"

Taylor left country music a year ago, found new friends, created a new image and life for herself. When she left country  music, she took her fame, ratings, and power with her. All I got to say is this is a prime example of why you don't take a young star for granted.  You never know what battles she fought and how much she truly did until you see the results of her absence.
