DMC-Devil May Cry 5 Review

I haven't posted all year.  Best way to start is with the best game this quarter, DMC- Devil May Cry.
DMC-Devil May Cry plays as prequel.  This time you return as the Dante in his teenage years.  I have to admit developers took an interesting twist with the storyline and gameplay.  Each fight takes place in limbo, which is a parallel world full of demons adjacent to the human world. Only Dante and his new assistant Kat can transcend into limbo.

To sum things up, Kat finds Dante in the beginning and gets him out of limbo. Kat reunites Dante with his brother Vergil.  Those who remember Vergil from previous DMC games know he is ruthless half demon, hell bent on world domination but Dante stands in his way.  For the most part, Vergil is a refined and peaceful character in this game. Vergil and Kat guide Dante through limbo inorder to kill the main villian Mundus, who imprisoned  his dad Sparda and killed his mother an angel.

Gameplay is killer.  Speed and style is the key. Like all DMC you can't block so all effort is put on evasion and attacking.  Weapons like Ebony and Ivory guns are back, which are useful but a few new additional weapons will have you enticed to use.  Some villians can only be killed by certain weapons and resistant to all other attempts which is an interesting twist.  The Devil trigger is re-invented which i felt came too late in the game and kinda hard to master or use against some enemies.

So what do I think of it.  To be honest, its the best DMC i've played since DMC 1.  The combat is solid and doesn't glitch out.  The enemies are repetative and limited but interest combinations like the witch and rage can make them hard an innovative to fight and defeat.  Overall, the game is definitely an interesting take on the series.  DMC details how Vergil develops into the sick bastard he is, and tells storyline about Dante's parents and the girl who made him attached to the humans.  Overall, it's an attempt for the better.  I give DMC - Devil May Cry 5 an 8.5/10.
