Ending to The Walking Dead Comic Book 193, What You Might Miss

It seems like comic book creator of The Walking Dead, Robert Kirkman, wanted to end his comic series on his terms before AMC screwed up the series even more with their vision of how the show should end like HBO did with Game of Thrones. Spoiler Alerts: Rick Died! Ricks death was more of reasonable death to spark change instead of make you pissed off or cry/ tear jerkers.

Rick once said we are the walking dead.  Rick ended his run in the series by saying we are the living not the walking dead.  We have to live and enjoy life with hope.

What you might have missed in 193

While the walking dead represented a violent threat and the life as we knew it on Earth for 192 issues, they represent something far different in this 193rd and final one. The narrative jumps forward many years to a quiet farm in the countryside. There we see an adult Carl Grimes, his wife Sophia, and their daughter Andrea, peacefully living out their days. That peace is interrupted when a walker stumbles onto the Grimes’ property and Carl puts it down with a very familiar sword.

Maggie and Glenn’s son is a failure

In this post apocalyptic future, walkers are less common. Maggie and Glenn’s now adult-ish son, Hershel Greene, has brought his walker carnival sideshow act to town. He has a group of walkers in a covered wagon that he charges townsfolk a pretty penny to gawk at. Sure enough, the walker that Carl put down was one of his.

Maggie is alive

But in this brave new world, Carl hasn’t just killed a walker, he has destroyed another citizen’s property. Actual walking dead are a prized and expensive commodity nowadays. Though the new sheriff (who is the Sheriff Kapoor revealed in the fake 194 cover) is loath to do it, he has to bring in Carl for a hearing with the local magistrate. While at the hearing, the President of the Colonies herself, Maggie Greene, turns up to have a word with the judge. Carl’s punishment, rather than a debilitating fine, will be to find a walker to replace Hershel’s property. Carl responds to this good news by killing the rest of Hershel’s herd in the dead of night.

United States is United

Carl’s job is that of a messenger. He travels out to the outer reaches of society to deliver important messages. After killing Hershel’s walkers, he heads out once more. We find out a couple of important things about this distant future world. For one, Rick Grimes remains a legend. The Grimes name goes far in these parts and it’s one of the reasons why Carl wasn’t hit with a fine. Also, the “colonies” led by Maggie are set to link up with the Western Alliance very soon. It sounds like the political landscape of the world is slowly putting itself back together and the continental United States may soon all be one political entity again.

Megan is alive

Negan is a hermit now but Carl still appreciates the connection they have, even if it is just leaving food outside his door and praying he’s inside. Carl and Lydia’s dialogue also reveals that Jesus and Aaron are still around, living their best lives. Also: the bird population is coming back and with a vengeance.

Eugene and Laura are alive

Carl reaches the Western front by train, where he delivers a message to a very familiar railroad engineer. Eugene Porter is finishing the most important work of his life: the railway that will connect East and West and further unite human society. Eugene is sad that his wife Stephanie is gone and that he seems to be coming down with a sickness himself. He’s happy to see Carl all the same. Less happy to see Carl is Laura, now one of Eugene’s workers. Laura still hates Rick for killing Dwight in the Commonwealth.

Michonne is alive

The climax of the Walking Dead’s final issue sees Carl pleading his case to Judge Michonne Hawthorne. He says he is grateful for everything they have built together. But he just can’t suffer a walker to live. Everything can slide back to the way it was during “The Trials” so easily. Michonne agrees, citing the words that appear on the statue outside (which is literally just the book jacket description of The Walking Dead). She sets Carl free.

Peaceful Ending

Carl returns home once again to a grateful Sophia and Andrea. Andrea wants her dad to read to her from her favorite book, so he does. He reads to Andrea the story of Rick Grimes - how he lived, suffered, and helped build a better world. We see images of most of the remaining characters, living out their old age in peace, as Carl reads. Carl, Sophia, Earl, Hershel, Maggie, Lydia, Eugene, Laura, Michonne, Aaron, Jesus, Mercer, Princess, Elodie, Sebastian, and Pamela are still around thanks to the efforts of Rick Grimes.

New Walking Dead Series

Alexa Mansour, Nicolas Cantu, and Hal Cumpston will all star in the new series, which is said to follow two female protagonists and focus on the first generation to come-of-age in the zombie apocalypse. A second lead female role has yet to be cast.

Not to be skeptical but what is there left to tell honestly?  So we’re really going to see a show about how teens and preteens survive or didn’t survive the outbreak.  I think we’re going to see some boundaries crossed about how much violence can be shown done to kids, but aside from that I’m not really eager to see another AMC spin-off of the Walking Dead.

AMC creative license on the show really killed the series with its poor writing and plot twist that don’t make sense.  I feel the comic book creator was right to end the comic series before it was wrapped up on the tv series embarrassingly like the game of thrones which I will leave in lower caps due to disappointment [deep sigh]...

Finally 'They Are Billions' coming to Xbox One and PS4 in July

If you’re like me and jealous that consoles never release RTS games, then you’re finally gifted with a real treat. ‘There are Billions’ is coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in July 2019!

The steampunk inspired RTS will have features that revolve around using a controller instead of the PC hotkeys.  I’m eager to see how developers will adapt the gamplay to console. I know game developers  like XCOM, Tropico, Terria and  Diablo said screw it and really half assed made the console versions game which really attributed to average sales.

I know biggest problem with games that originated on PC is that most the features of PC games never make it to the console versions.  I know with Terria and XCOM most the levels and monsters on PC never showed up on the console.  Games like 7 days to die got different developers for PS4 and Xbox one, and the Xbox One developers went out of business so the game stop being updated.

Let’s hope that ‘There are Billions’ doesn’t have the same issues and brings a quality game that will lead to more development for RTS games to consoles,

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Tifa Reveal

I have some good news and bad news about Final Fantasy 7 Remake.  Well let’s get the bad news out the way first.  FF7 Remake will not be turn based like older RPG and will play much like Kingdom Hearts where the characters act independently and you control them via switching.  Also FF7 Remake is exclusively going to be on PlayStation 4.

The good news is that Square Enix announced there will not be any content cut or characters altered due to censorship like with the original release.  For those of you who did not know, the Japanese version of FF7 was heavily edited from Barrett and Cid cursing to Tifa and Yuffie outfits being changed to appeal to western conservatives.

Fantasy 7 Remake is expected to be released next year on March 3, 2020.

She wrote, "Of course, I feel lonely and scary about leaving a place like my second home. To be honest, I do not know what will happen. I will take full responsibility if anything happens. However, because I had stayed in one same place for so long, I have started thinking that I want to see one step outside of the world. That's why I made the very important decision for me to leave Himawari."

She had posted her comments on her official blog for 12 years since July 2007, and called it "my precious

And most importantly, she confirms that she will continue her professional career. At this time, it is not known

Madden 20 Features NCAA Again

For those of you who wondered why we haven’t had NCAA football game for nearly a decade it was because it Colleges claimed it was another revenue stream that college athletes were being denied, so game developers stopped making college games all together. NBA Games found a way around this issue by only including elite eight teams, and that’s the direction Madden is going.

You create your own player and initially attach him to one of ten rosters (full list below) for a College Play-offs campaign watched by scouts who then decide on your placing in the NFL draft. Further details are slim, but the general idea is you play season after season in the hope of securing a Pro Bowl berth and eventually being inducted into the NFL Hall Of Fame.

Here is the list of NCAA teams you can start the mode with:
  • Clemson Tigers
  • Florida Gators
  • Florida State Seminoles
  • LSU Tigers
  • Miami Hurricanes
  • Oklahoma Sooners
  • Oregon Ducks
  • Texas Longhorns
  • Texas Tech Red Raiders
  • USC Trojans
The cover player is Patrick Mahomes and the release date is August 2, 2019.  Now a lot of people have criticized madden for giving you the same game with no new features so here what new features you can expect:

As EA's focus shifts more towards Ultimate Team with each year it’s franchise mode that suffers most, but the company has made intriguing noises about realigning that balance. Madden 20 adds a scenario engine said to introduce storylines that take things deeper than simply grinding through match after match, in addition to further expanding upon last year’s neat-yet-inflexible ‘scheme fit' system. Further details are due later this week, and GR will have a standalone look at Madden 20 franchise in the coming days.

A big new feature across the game is something called Superstar X-Factors, which see elite players get a mid-match attributes boost under specific circumstances. How it works is a touch unclear for now, but here’s an EA spokesperson’s attempt to outline it all:
“In total there will be around 50 Superstar X-Factor players and over 30 additional Superstar players. The difference between the two are the Zone abilities and Superstar abilities. Zone abilities are about your style of play and your opponent's style of play. If you want to get Mahomes in the Zone, you need to adjust your style of play to help him meet [a specific] objective list. So, if your play-style is to run the ball you won't have a high chance of meeting that objective list to get him in the Zone.”

TL;DR explanation of Superstar X-Factors: control videogame Tom Brady like real-life Tom Brady – throwing TD passes, protecting the football, telekinetically littering the field in yellow laundry – and he’ll receive in-game boosts to reward you further. Potentially very cool, so long as the devs remember this isn’t NBA Jam.

Fallout 76 Controversy: Gang Violence in Online Gaming

Fallout 76, the game that has caused more problems than benefits two new issues: gang violence on the pvp servers and duping.  Duping is when players take an existing item and, using in-game systems in a way not originally intended, duplicate it, creating an infinite stream of powerful items. It’s a serious problem, and it has created a completely out of control economy.

Players are creating new alternate characters to serve as pack mules, roaming Appalachia with thousands of pounds of legendary weapons and stashes full of caps, Fallout’s currency.  Players who try to go about pvp who or are hunted down by dupers, however, quickly find themselves in a pickle.

Even players in the non-violent Pacifist Mode are reporting being one-shot killed due duping powerful items like bobble heads, which temporarily increase stats.

Some gamers have reported being held hostage by gangs claiming to be the authorized to take vigilante actions against duping players. This game is getting out of hand and soon will be shutdown for non sense.

Ark Survival Evolved Expansion and How to Access Beta

The rumors are confirmed there is a mega update for Ark Survival Evolved on PC available now and a large update coming to all consoles on January 15, 2019.

What’s new
Changes:
  • Made structure quick pickup time configurable in ini file (ServerSettings -> StructurePickupTimeAfterPlacement, default = 30)
  • Added new ini config option to ignore the duration and always allow quick pickup (ServerSettings -> AlwaysAllowStructurePickup, default = false)
  • Improved quick pickup HUD text to avoid overlapping other text, and to format durations as timestamps if over 60 seconds to support very long times if configured for that
  • Enabled structure quick pickup for ALL structures. For structures that previously had pickup disabled, they now auto-disable quick pickup as soon as the player interacts with the structure in any way (unless AlwaysAllowStructurePickup is set to true)
New structures/variants:
  • Added 'smooth' sidewall textures variants (like the stone foundation) to the stock square foundations [Adobe, Metal, Stone, Tek, Thatch, Wood]
  • Triangle foundations [Adobe, Metal, Stone, Tek, Wood]
  • Triangle ceilings [Adobe, Metal, Stone, Tek, Wood, Greenhouse]
  • Triangle roofs [Adobe, Metal, Stone, Tek, Wood, Greenhouse]
  • Large (4x height) walls [Adobe, Metal, Stone, Tek, Wood]
  • Flexible pipe [Stone, Metal]
  • Flexible electrical cable
  • Stairs (with freely swappable ramp variant) [Adobe, Metal, Stone, Tek, Wood]
  • Double door frames [Adobe, Metal, Stone, Tek, Wood]
  • Double doors [Adobe, Metal, Stone, Tek, Wood]
  • Dedicated storage (Tek structure that allows storing a large amount of a single resource)
  • Fence supports (allows you to build fences that are level along the top) [Adobe, Metal, Stone, Tek, Wood]
Kibble changes that will be in the beta branch:
All eggs have been assigned a value based on the size and rarity of the egg. These sizes include: Extra Small, Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large, and Special. The eggs are used in a recipe to create kibble of a coinciding value: Basic, Simple, Regular, Superior, Exceptional, and Extraordinary. This new system will make it so that creature kibble desires are based on the quality levels instead of specific creatures, which should greatly decrease the number of tamed creatures needed for the purposes of taming.
Regarding previously crafted kibble:
  • Old kibbles will not be wiped, and will inherit their new "value/color" appropriately.
  • Old kibbles will still work to tame their appropriate creatures.
  • Old kibble will no longer be craftable, only the new types will be craftable.
We will be taking your feedback into serious consideration regarding both of these changes so we invite you to communicate with us on our social media, the forums, reddit, etc with your opinions and critique. Once we're happy with where these features are at, we will be bringing them over to the PC main game and then to all platforms (Xbox and PS4).

How to access the Beta necessary introduction

As a quick starting note: Before accessing a beta branch you should create a backup of any single player games, characters, or server files that you may have for ARK to prevent any corruption or loss of player data from occurring. When you’re done playing with the beta you’ll need to navigate back to the branch selection dialogue and opt-out of the beta (choose NONE). You cannot access your official server while on the beta because they are not the same version. Depending on your internet connection this process could take some time so if you’re doing anything time sensitive on your official server, be cautious of swapping!

large.image.jpg
How to access the beta:
From your Steam games library, right-click on ARK: Survival Evolved and choose Properties. From this new window you’ll click on BETAS at the top. Here is where you’ll swap between the beta version and the live version of the game.
Choose the beta called qolbeta_public from the drop down list and then close the Properties window once the window says it has successfully accessed the beta. Your Steam client will begin to download the beta (at the time of this post, v290.103).
Depending on your internet connection this process could take some time. You can tell you are successfully on the beta when [qolbeta_public] appears next to ARK: Survival Evolved on your Steam games list.
Providing feedback:
In order for us to effectively analyze feedback from beta users we have set up two separate threads, one for Structures Plus related feedback and one for the Kibble changes. Please use these threads linked below when reporting issues, bugs, and feedback to us.

Birdbox Official Reveal at What the Monsters Look Like

If you watched bird box and got confused by the chalk sketchings by the “psychologist” of the monsters, then here is your opportunity to see the official drawing for the demons in the movie.  According to a producer for the film, the scene where boy and girl were born was suppose to be the opportunity where we see the monsters for the first time.  For some reason the director went against the book and said it was better to leave some content out.  Below is the official photo of the birdbox monster:

Bungie and Activision Split: Bungie Keeps Destiny

After a lot of lawsuits and controversy, Bungie has separated and split from Activision.  This is big news because of the scandal caused by greed and monetarization scheme that doomed the hot selling game Destiny.  I mean, this was not expected but a blessing in disguise bc Bungie was an independent developer that came to a larger publisher like Activision for help.  It’s been drama every since they got together and the games Bungie have published reflected that. Marked by greedy monetarization, an array of anti-consumer practices, and gameplay regressions that ruined much of what fans loved about Destiny.  Without Activision’s greedy executives breathing down Bungie neck, I wonder what the franchise can do to salvage its reputation and regain the high quality content and loyal followers again?

Bungie released an official press statement last night to explain the split and what is next for Destiny and other publications the Bungie and Activision share:

When we first launched our partnership with Activision in 2010, the gaming industry was in a pretty different place. As an independent studio setting out to build a brand new experience, we wanted a partner willing to take a big leap of faith with us. We had a vision for Destiny that we believed in, but to launch a game of that magnitude, we needed the support of an established publishing partner.

With Activision, we created something special. To date, Destiny has delivered a combination of over 50 million games and expansions to players all around the world. More importantly, we’ve also witnessed a remarkable community – tens of millions of Guardians strong – rise up and embrace Destiny, to play together, to make and share memories, and even to do truly great things that reach far beyond the game we share, to deliver a positive impact on people’s everyday lives.

We have enjoyed a successful eight-year run and would like to thank Activision for their partnership on Destiny. Looking ahead, we’re excited to announce plans for Activision to transfer publishing rights for Destiny to Bungie. With our remarkable Destiny community, we are ready to publish on our own, while Activision will increase their focus on owned IP projects.

The planned transition process is already underway in its early stages, with Bungie and Activision both committed to making sure the handoff is as seamless as possible.

With Forsaken, we’ve learned, and listened, and leaned in to what we believe our players want from a great Destiny experience. Rest assured there is more of that on the way. We’ll continue to deliver on the existing Destiny roadmap, and we’re looking forward to releasing more seasonal experiences in the coming months, as well as surprising our community with some exciting announcements about what lies beyond.

Thank you so much for your continued support. Our success is owed in no small part to the incredible community of players who have graced our worlds with light and life. We know self-publishing won’t be easy; there’s still much for us to learn as we grow as an independent, global studio, but we see unbounded opportunities and potential in Destiny. We know that new adventures await us all on new worlds filled with mystery, adventure, and hope. We hope you’ll join us there.

See you starside.
