Bayonetta was a sleeper hit for all PS3 and Xbox 360 that got a following among the underground gamers, but Bayonetta 2 is getting off on the wrong foot from the start.
Bayonetta 2 will be designed by Platinum Games and exclusive for the Nintendo Wii U. From the trailer it doesn't look like it's going to be that impressive. I've checked my sources and so far nothing has been released about the story line.
Most gamers played the first game because of the sexual innuendos, so the game coming to Nintendo will more likely be a tamed version of the game. Sega decided not to publish the game, so Nintendo stepped in to back the title.
Most don't realize the only reason Sony ventured into making the Playstation system is because Nintendo asked Sony a long time ago to help them make a CD based console but ditched it. Sony kept going with it making the PS. And I'm sure MS wouldn't had even bothered to go into the gaming biz if Nintendo had disappeared during the last video game crash.
Shortly after the release of Bayonetta Hideki Kamiya discussed with Yusuke Hashimoto ideas for a sequels and spin-off games from the title. However, Kamiya believed they would never release a sequel. The game's exclusivity to the Wii U resulted in complains by fans from the original game. In response, Atsushi Inaba, a Producer at Platinum Games, Bayonetta 2 would not exist if Nintendo had not partnered with Platinum Games to make the game. Because of this, it will be released exclusively on the Wii U.
Even one of the people at Platinum Games says if it wasn't for Nintendo this game would never have been created.
